Evangelism Team
Septmeber 29, 2005 Meeting Minutes

Present were Dean Conklin, Dee Duncan, Ken Fong (taking notes), Lynda Fickling, and Jim Wolff (presiding). The meeting was held in the dark due to a neighborhood power outage.

Project updates:

Bert Stull is joining the team, but he was unable to make this meeting.

Name tag holder: Dee Duncan will be asking Gene Eliason if he’s interested in building the name tag holder. We want to use 2006 budget for this.

New Projects:

We decided to approach the Communications Team about combining teams. Over the last many months, it has become clear that there is considerable overlap between what the two teams do. Ken Fong, speaking as the Operations Advocate, supported this move.

Ken brought up the Discovery Club, an outside group which will be meeting at St. Luke’s on Saturdays.

The Fall Festival is another event at which we should be providing information for outside attendees. We agreed to use these two as test cases of evangelizing to outside groups.

We also talked about providing greeters in early November for Fiddler on the Roof.

Ken presented the maps of the church that he had developed.

The group put together a proposed Evangelism Team Budget for 2006:

Name Tag Holders $500
Total $1,800

If and as the team finds good ideas for significant new evangelism projects, we will search for money to fund them.

We will schedule a next meeting, jointly with Communications, for late October.

Action Items

Jim Wolff will approach Lisa Hajek, chair of Communications, about combining teams.

Ken Fong will contact Jenita Rhodes about putting out invitational material, such as our Invitation Cards, for the Discovery Club.

Lynda Fickling will contact Chris Wilterdink about handing out information at the Fall Festival
