Evangelism Team
November 16, 2004 Meeting Minutes

In attendance were David Ashby, Dean Conklin, Dee Duncan, Ken Fong (taking minutes), Laura Kuhl (presiding), Nancy Obertier and Jim Wolff.

Dean Conklin pointed out a correction to the minutes of the November 2nd meeting, which are consequently being reissued.

The team is being asked to stuff bulletins with the Advent Invitation Cards for services on November 28, December 5, and December 19. A subsequent email was sent with details.

We reviewed our ongoing projects:

There were no comments on the Church Conference report about the Evangelism Team that Ken circulated.

Laura is having trouble getting the Hospitality Team together, due to a lack of responses. She will be trying again soon.

The Name Tag team has not met yet.

Laura is working on scheduling a meeting with Kay Swanson and Jenita Rhodes to discuss working with Little School to increase evangelism at St. Luke’s, most likely one of the two Mondays after Thanksgiving. Other ET members are invited to attend.

Little School will be handing out the Advent Calendars to families. It was suggested that the Advent Invitation Cards be handed out at the same time.

Ken reported that the updated CD is done and in testing. No comments were received about the new CD sleeve, so we’ll be moving ahead with it as is.

Dean Conklin suggested that St. Luke’s distribute Janet Forbes’ sermons in an easy-to-create booklet form, with logo, invitation statement, etc.

Dean also shared a letter he received after attending First UMC in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He pointed out their letterhead, in particular. Ken will share this with Lynda Fickling.

We need to staff the Guest Services Center for the Christmas Cantata (12/5) and Christmas Eve. We’ll work the staffing via email shortly before those events.
