Staff/Pastors Report

Lynda reported our membership at 1308. We have had a lot of people moving this summer. Trying to recognize their departure in the Bulletin.

Evangelism Team- Laura Kuhl

They are focusing on three areas:

Members Evangelizing-training the congregation on how they react to or treat visitors. Encourage everyone to invite people to church

Ways to tweak our welcoming atmosphere

Visitor follow-up

Dee & Lynda are working on this

On July 11, they plan to have table in the Narthex in order to recruit people to help with these 3 areas. There are sign up sheets on the web site as well. Laura also encouraged all groups to use the logo in all communications. It is available for downloading on the web. Laura distributed the recommendations for the Statement Usage (document attached) Everyone present was in agreement on the usage suggestions.

Stewardship Report -Bill Lee

Bill reported that the team had met with Fred before he took his sabbatical. They have talked about the team’s visions, goals and targets to achieve. They need to grow their team and are looking for new members. Their vision is to have the campaign more individualized and to determine how they can connect more personally with each and every member. Ideas include using the small groups and having meetings in homes. A concern was expressed in expecting the small group leaders to lead a group through Stewradship sessions. The small group’s idea was well received, however it was suggested that individuals be identified and trained who could specifically lead groups through the campaign goals.

Martha asked what information the Evangelism team wants from MC, in terms of goals and budget. Bill will get back to this group at our next meeting with more specifics.
