Upcoming Events at St. Luke'sShe Loves MeWe are holding auditions for our next Wesley Players production, She Loves Me. I have listed additional information about the show below. Auditions will be held at St. Luke's on Friday December 16th at 6:00pm in the Sanctuary and Saturday December 17th at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary. We will have the traditional forms for you to fill out. Plan on giving us all your conflicts with the rehearsal schedule at the time of your audition. Please arrive promptly on the day of your choice. We will have you sing the selection for your gender, teach you a short dance audition and have you read a selection from the show. If needed, we will have callbacks on Sunday December 18th at 1:00pm in the Youth Room. Callbacks will be e-mailed by 9:00pm Saturday December 17th. Helpful Tips for auditioning: *Know your song. The more comfortable you are with the music you will sing, the more relaxed you will feel on the day of your audition. While memorizing the song isn't required, you may find it will help you feel more prepared for your singing audition. Everyone will need to sing for the audition so we can learn about your voice and place you appropriately. Everyone will sing in the show. There will be a place for you to note on the audition form the size of part you would prefer. Only certain characters will be required to sing solos. Please see the character listing for details. *During the dance audition, don't worry about the things you can't do. This is not a dance intensive show. It will be mostly stage direction. We do need to know what you can do and to learn more about you, our choreographer will teach you a short collection of moves. Just relax and smile, even if you miss every step. Have fun with it. *When it comes time to read, relax and do your best. Use what you see on the page and the character direction you are given. We aren't looking for the perfect delivery, we are looking actors who listen and are willing to be flexible. Information about casting: We would like to cast the show as soon as possible. While we can usually do this without a callback, we sometimes can't. Please know that we understand how frustrating it can be to wait. We will get the cast list out as soon as we can. The cast list will be sent to the e-mail address you write down on your audition form. This show has a mostly adult cast with openings for the youth in the ensemble. The ensemble will have most of the dance work for the show and we hope to create couples to have a tango number. If you are a teen and like to dance, you will have a great time in this show and we would love to have you audition. There is one named teen role and it is a male role. Following you will find links to the music you are asked to learn for your audition. We hope to see all of you at auditions! Jenna Wilcox, Director About She Loves Me: Two Acts, Book Musical, Rated G 1993 Roundabout Version It is the rare musical theatre aficionado who doesn't have a soft spot in his heart for this intimate show, considered by many the most charming musical ever written. Georg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930's who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each other. Funny, intelligent, honest and sentimental, SHE LOVES ME is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance and nostalgia, yet as universal and relevant as ever in this age of internet romances. SHE LOVES ME showcases a small but strong ensemble cast playing a range of vivid, memorable characters of all ages. Dance is mostly eschewed in favor of clever character-driven songs full of melody and personality. An ideal Christmas or Valentine's Day show, this heart-warming score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) and book by Joe Masteroff (CABARET) is a pleasure whatever the occasion!
