3/10/02—CAMBODIA MEETING
Introducing youth to the team–Joel, Steph, and Stephanie. Kathy Dunwoody is a new member of the Cambodia Team also.
Ken and Dalai reported on flight options:
*First team leaves on Thursday, December 26th through the 12th of January
*Second team leaves Thursday, January 2nd through the 19th.
*Both teams will be there from January 5th through the 9th together. During this time, the teams will most likely eat in town. This time will also be the time that team members can make excursion trips if they wish. Traveling to other churches is not part of the excursion time.
China Airlines may be the best, so far, on price at $1100. Ken is working on getting more prices from other airlines.
Ken is also working on flight insurance quotes
The thought is that everyone will spend 1 night in Bangkok on the way there and 2 nights on the way back
Fund Raisers: The Silent Auction is our biggest fund-raising event.
*Betsy Keyack, John and Sharon Williams sent 214 letters requesting donations from businesses, which included 60 companies that donated last year. They requested volunteers to call to follow up on gifts. Marie will be keeping the Auction items.

*Ken will be digging out the script from last time and will be e-mailing it by the 24th.
*Marie is to put a flyer in the bulletin for the next 4 weeks through at least Easter for auction items. Any older items received will be either used at the Silent Auction or saved for the Garage Sale.
*The youth will be getting with Deb Juarez to get contacts for other Methodist churches for the Silent Auction.
*Dan Rapp and Dali are on the committee to buy the food need. The Cambodia church will, again, donate their time to cook for us. They will provide traditional music for 1 hours and we will be paying them for this entertainment.
*Bells of Hope and tee-shirt sales: We have made $141.00 on the bell sales. We have the following volunteers to sell bells and shirts the next 2 Sundays. Betsy, Andrea, Joyce and Sherri are on this committee.
Treasury: We currently have $4876.23 in the treasury.
Car Wash: Aaron will be working on this. Mother’s Day IS THE DAY! May 12th. We will only be washing the outsides of the cars, not the insides. June 6th is Father’s Day and we may be having one that day as well.
Garage Sale: Saturday, August 24th. Opens at 8:00 a.m. and goes through 3:00. Set up will be early! We will be selling spaces to the congregation and will have concessions for snacks and drinks. We will be putting ads in the newspapers.
Bricks for Hope Fund Raiser: Coming up in November
ELS: Marie will be making copies of the ELS curriculum and Dalai will help with the teaching while we are in Cambodia.
P.E.T.: Spoke briefly about the Personal Energy Transportation program and what we might do.
Dalai gave us some Kumar lessons. GET STUDYING!
Next meetings will be: April 28th, May 19th and June 2nd. Please mark your calendars accordingly.
