CAMBODIA MEETING MINUTES
June 30, 2002
Many thanks to the Datsons' for providing a wonderful lunch! Laurie Gilbert
led us in the opening prayer. She thanked everyone who gave so much of
their time in ensuring the Dinner and Auction were a great success.
Approximately $11,543 was made with dinner and auction bringing our total
funds to about $16,518.63. Three bricks sold today for a total of six, but
plenty of forms have been picked up so sales will hopefully pick up in the
next few months.
We will again sell flower bulbs beginning in August. Nita Dunn has
graciously volunteered to coordinate those sales, but she will need
volunteers to be at the sales table between services and to ensure delivery
of those that are not picked up at church.
Marie Fornoff updated the group on the plans for the yard sale on July 20th
we are doing with the Home Improvements group. We need volunteers for
refreshments, set-up and clean-up, to pick up donations and help price and
organize donated items. The sale is from 8 to 2:00 and we need to be out by
3:30 because another group is using the church. Set up will begin at 7:00
am. Steve Riley called several groups to see about pick up for the
leftovers, but most don't do pick up on Saturdays. We may just store the
items and have them picked up on Monday morning. Joyce Carnes will check on
getting the lemon ice machine from Dan for that day.
Laurie reminded us that we are doing the Dinner for the play "Joseph" will
be on November 15th and 16th. We will need a team to coordinate those
evenings.
The Craft Bazaar is Saturday, November 2. We will have a table for the
committee of donated items and individuals will also be selling their own
items. We will also have a food table with refreshments for sale.
Joyce and Ken Decker will help organize the accommodations and tours on the
trip. We can pick up the visas in Cambodia and need to bring 2 passport
photos for this. Marie sent out immunization information. Steve discussed
the travel insurance from Church Mutual. It covers missionaries for
liability, kidnap and ransom, and medical and costs $5,300 for the whole
group on the entire trip. Currently there are 20 individuals in Team 1 and
14 in Team 2. Five of those individuals are staying the whole time.
We will not have a meeting in July, so the next meeting is Sunday, August
18th, and Steve Riley has volunteered to bring the lunch. God bless and
have a wonderful July!
