Dr. Gordon C. Tucker Jr. will lead a detailed study of Excavating Jesus, by John Dominic Crossan & Jonathan Reed.
A high level overview of the book will be offered on Monday, April 15, 2024, 6:30-8:00pm in the Chapel and continuing for the next four weeks, on Mondays, April 22-May 13, at 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Dr.Tucker will guide participants on a virtual journey through the Holy Land in the 1st century Before Common Era (BCE), looking "beneath the stones" and "behind the texts" to better understand Jesus’s world.
Friday Bible Study with Rev. Liza
Meets every Friday from noon-1:00pm in a hybrid format both in the Conference Room and on Zoom. This group is curious and willing to wrestle with a variety of ideas and topics, all centered around our life-long journey of learning from scripture and the timeless wisdom we find in our sacred text. Books read recently include John For Normal People: A Guide Through the Depth and Drama of the Fourth Gospel by Jennifer Bashan; Evolution of the Word: The New Testament in the Order the Books Were Written by Marcus Borg; and Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter by Lindsay Freeman.
