Because of his life and teachings…
For three years Jesus traveled through villages and towns teaching and preaching a message of God’s love for all. For some his message was life-giving, and his presence was healing and transformative. For others, his message was threatening and challenged their way of life. Jesus continues to teach and preach a message of God’s love through the gospels, and it remains true that for some this is life-giving and for others it is threatening. It is because of his life and teachings we call ourselves Christian. But what does it mean to follow Jesus today? What does it mean to be transformed by his life and teachings in our context? What does it mean to follow Jesus in this season of Lent as we prepare for the resurrection event?
