A New Way To Be Human
Jesus Leading Us to Full Humanity
There are multiple stories of Jesus appearing to his community after the resurrection. The stories differ, but there is one aspect of these stories that remains consistent throughout the gospels. The disciples didn’t recognize Jesus, at least not initially. Something about Jesus had changed. Something about the community had changed. The post-resurrection Jesus was physically unrecognizable, and he invited his community to a new way of being. He invited his community to think differently, to act differently, to live differently. The resurrection invites us to the same newness. The resurrection invites us into a new way to be human as Jesus leads us to full humanity.
